2017 NYC NAF Academy of Hospitality & Tourism Summer Internship Program
The NAF Academy of Hospitality & Tourism is a four year program designed to introduce high school students to the Hospitality & Tourism Industry.
NAF is a national network of education, business and community leaders who work together to ensure high school students are college, career and future ready.
This program is funded by the New York City Department of Education in partnership with Hospitality & Tourism organizations throughout New York City.
Presently the program, with over 1,000 students enrolled, is in place (from the 9th grade through the 12th grade level) at the following seven New York City High Schools:
- Academy of Hospitality & Tourism High School at Erasmus (Brooklyn)
- Grover Cleveland High School (Queens)
- High School for Enterprise, Business & Technology (Brooklyn)
- High School for Hospitality Management (Manhattan)
- Jacqueline Kennedy Onassis High School for International Careers (Manhattan)
- New Utrecht High School (Brooklyn)
- University Neighborhood High School (Manhattan)
NYC NAF Academies are looking to establish 2017 summer internships for its students. These internships would be for a six to eight week period during the months of July 2017 and August 2017. The students should be paid at the prevailing minimum wage rate by your hotel.
Funding may be available, which would be covered by government initiatives for summer youth education and career awareness, to pay the students directly. All students are prescreened and have Microsoft Office skills.
